Delaware Greenways Submits Comments to the 2012 Draft County Comp Plan Update
On February 1, 2012 Delaware Greenways submited comments to the New Castle County Department of Land Use and the New Castle County Planning Board regarding the Draft 2012 County Comprehensive Plan Update. The comments represent a consensus of the Delaware Greenways Board that the 2012 Comprehensive Plan Update needs to specify how the County will strive toward the admirable vision and goals laid out in the Plan. A clearer set of strategies will create a more focused, predictable effort, which will enable other organizations and individuals to collaborate.

Delaware Byways Conference Series

Partnering with DelDOT, Delaware Greenways is co-hosting a series of conferences to assist DelDOT and the state's Byways organizations with staying current on transportation and land use issues. The topic of the first conference will be Context Sensitive Solutions for Byways and focus on collaborative problem solving, livability, preservation, stewardship, and sustainability. These conferences provide byways stakeholders a forum to learn and discuss together the most innovative transportation and land use practices for Byway communities. As a managing organization for three of the state's byways and an advocate for sustainable land use and transportation, Delaware Greenways looks forward to the outcomes of these conferences. The first conference will be held September 13, 2011 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Delaware Technical and Community College in Dover.
