2010 Family Trail Days

Sundays, 1:30-3:30 pm

Delaware Greenways invites families to participate in a monthly series of guided walks designed to explore the rich natural and cultural heritage of northern New Castle County through use of the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail; a nine mile ribbon of green stretching from the Delaware to the Brandywine River.

Family Trail Days are an outgrowth of a statewide campaign called, "No Child Left Inside, Connecting Families to the Outdoors." The campaign's goal is to stop two worrisome trends among America's youth: the lack of connection with the outdoors and decreasing amounts of physical activity. The walks provide families with opportunities to connect with nature by getting out onto the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail and highlight close-to-home recreational opportunities as part of an active and healthy lifestyle.
