Northern
Delaware Greenway
The vision that started
Delaware Greenways, the Northern Delaware Greenway links county and state
parkland between the Delaware River and the Brandywine. Starting at
Fox Point State Park, you can walk, jog, or bicycle into Wilmington along
wooded greenway trails and pathways. Most trails are paved and are
completely off-road (i.e. where the pathway follows the road is it separated
by a buffer).
Starting at Fox Point
State Park or Bellevue State Park, the greenway courses over 5 miles through
Bringhurst Woods and Rockwood Mansion (county carks), across the
Rockland Golf Course, past the newly renovated Blue Ball Barn, into Alapocas
Woods State Park and across the Brandywine River near Bancroft Mills.
Including secondary spines and trails, there are nearly 10 miles of the
Northern Delaware Greenway to enjoy!

Greater Pike
Creek Valley Walking Map
In 2006, Delaware Greenways partnered with the Pike Creek Civic League and the New Castle County
Department of Land Use to create a community walking map for the Pike Creek
Valley. The map highlights greenway connections, parks, trails, and
pathways in and around the Pike Creek Valley. The project was funded
in part by a grant from
Livable
Delaware.
The walking maps are specific to a
particular area, highlighting walking loops, bicycle routes, and points of
interest and nearby destinations (e.g. schools, shops, restaurants).
The map will soon be posted at
kiosks around the Pike Creek Valley. Future projects will expand the
map series to cover communities including Hockessin, Claymont, Bear, Newark,
Wilmington, and Middletown. |

Brandywine
Hundred Walking Map
Delaware Greenways recently published the Brandywine Hundred Walking Map
with help from key sponsors and community support. This is the second in our ongoing series of
community walking maps aimed at raising awareness and encouraging use of
community greenways, trails, parks, and other amenities.
Free copies are available at our home in the Bird-Husbands House (1910
Rockland Road) and the Blue Ball Barn.
